Breakout 71’s open source code has been accepted by the F-droid app store, where you can download and install an entirely open source and google free version on android : https://f-droid.org/en/packages/me.lecaro.breakout/

Their update system is automatic, so I suspect the game will be updated there more often than on the play store.
